Things I Did Last Night

My school semester has ended and this is my first week at home. It is not as fun as I thought it would be. I want to get a job but the very thought of going outside into the cold scares the dickens out of me. My brother received a school project to do eons ago but like any boy, he procrastinated. I just saw the criteria listed for the project and boy oh boy was he stupid. I have not seen half of what is listed on the paper done. In fact, last night, I felt sorry for him and I told him to sleep and I will finish painting his work. His project was to create the topography of Maine. Well, that is not all, the places of interest, mountains and rivers must also be labeled. He is in big trouble. I regretted telling him that I would paint so that he would sleep because we went to bed at the same time!! He stayed up listening to music! I was so upset. How dare he take advantage of my thoughtfulness. “Why did I just not stop?” you may ask. I could not. I have this “thing”. If I start a project, it must be completed. If it is not, I cannot sleep or eat. It is very tiring. This morning, I woke up early to finish it. And below are the pictures. I baked it!! It smells absolutely delicious! Who knew salt, flour, water and paint could smell so appetizing? Oh before I post the pictures, I must say, I am absolutely on top of the world. I connected my phone to my laptop via bluetooth, now picture sharing is easier than ever! I refuse to get a smart phone for a couple of reasons: 1. I don’t use my phone very much. In fact, I have to call you back if you call as chances are, I missed your call because I did not know where my phone was and 2. smartphones are tracked more so than ordinary phones. Sorry, I love my privacy.

 Resting on the oven door. This was the first baking. The colors were not thoroughly mixed for the mountains, the green was missing a bit of brown. The mountains were based with a mixture of green and yellow and blue and orange then painted brown. The brown was still basic.

Final baking. The brown had been highlighted with green and orange. The material itself is smooth when dried so the mountain is smooth rough.

Come and visit Maine!

There are several things that I wish to talk about but some I will leave for the vlog. Others, as you may have obviously guessed, must and will be written here. These, as the title suggests, are just ramblings and the experiences may or may not be interlinked.

1. First of all, let me point out this,” everything funny happens on the bus.” Why is this mode of public transport so popular a venue for human antics? Does the bus contain a mystical power that makes people feel free or is it mere fact that they are going home and the bus is the entity aiding this that makes them so light-headed and childish?

It is almost ironic for me to say this (in relation to the last sentence) but the funniest moment I have seen was by a child. She had fallen asleep on the bus in a seat all to herself while her mother was busy trying to keep her 1 year old brother occupied. I must admit that boy needed something, a slap or two maybe. He was so energetic he made me tired. Soon it was time for them to leave, the mother took up the stroller, a heavy backpack and the child and stood at the backdoor. She started to wake her daughter three stops before but the girl would have none of it. She turned around and looked at her mother and promptly went back to sleep. At this point, the tired and frustrated woman began to raise her voice and threaten the child with leaving without her. To my surprise and others as well, the child rolled her eyes and told her mother to “shut up,” she even explained shortly that she was tired. At this point, we all start laughing, we tried to hide it but it was too hard. Finally the mother succeeded with getting the little girl up and they left. At their departure, we all burst out laughing. Why? Because they were white and we were (are) black. One older lady turned around and in the midst of her laughter commented,” If that were a black child, you’d see the slaps going.” To which my friend and I nodded happily in agreement. We know black mothers do not play. Could I have told my mother to shutup and live? Of course not! My friend commented that the slaps would not end until she was up and wide awake. Ah the things that happen on the bus.

2. Yesterday my asexuality was truly confirmed. I was sitting among a group of my friends when a guy walked over to talk to one of them. The friend did introductions and so forth. I found my self staring at this guy. Why was I staring? Because he had awesome legs. They are the legs that make you say,” oh he’s a dancer not ballet but the cool music.” I looked at my legs and they were so fat compared to his. Before I knew it, I had blurted out that thought. Always one to play it cool, I got up and stood beside him. His legs were so awesome! I really want his legs. It did not occur to me that I did not even look at this boy’s face. So I looked, he was not bad-looking at all. I even got to touch his awesome curly hair!! He looked like a little puppy you just want to squeeze the life out of. I had even dreamed that I had a puppy the night before. Sigh. I want to make him my puppy  but  I really want his legs.

3. Yesterday as I was walking to the library I saw a guy who looked just like my friend. Upon going closer, I realized that he was not. I started walking away when he came up to me with a huge smile and said,” hey best friend.” Who in dickens was this child? Did I know him? Did I have a drunken expedition and make a new best friend ( I am just joking, it sounded like it needed a bit of naughtiness). I looked at him tentatively then said,”hi,” and slowly walked away. I looked back on him and he was still there smiling. I really regret not saying,”hey best friend,” back. That would’ve been interesting.

As I have said before, I will leave some for my vlog so see you then.

Ayong je chingu

I think I may have caught blogging fever. Thing is, I know it will end soon like the other things I have started. I think I should list them. Here it goes:

2. cellphone charms ( I am discouraged. A baby used all her might to pop it. I don’t know why she’s so strong!)

3. Growing a plant

4. A former blog

5. Drawing

But this, this I shall continue! That is my solemn vow!

oh! I was staring at my wall earlier and I saw a spider. Unlike most organisms of my species, I adore the little critters, but I will not hesitate to kill them. Stealthily, I crept towards the spider, it’s black and white markings illuminated by the light of my lamp. I slowly reached for the box of tissues on my ebony bedside table. My heart did not drum, no I was far too used to this. I was immune to its imminent death. In fact, the sadistic animal within longed to see the chaotic mess it would leave. It longed for the leaving of a resolved issue as wiped the remnants away from the wall. I raised my hand. The spider, as if measuring my every movement, flipped at the same time.

Mind. Blown.

A spider just matrix-ed to avoid its death. Even though I lost, I must applaud you for your tenacity my dear critter. But the next time we meet, I will not hesitate in aiding you to your end.

I think it absolutely necessary that I clear up some things before I really start blogging. The title of my blog,’ Things I Did Last Night,’ is nothing more than a clever ploy to get you to read my blog. I sat and thought about it. I said to myself,”Self?” My self said,”Yes?” And I said,” I want to start blogging but I need a title that grabs the attention of people.” My self asked,” So what do you have so far?” I replied,” Well, I was wondering if I should go cute and quirky or serious and sensual.” To which my self said,” You are not sensual.” Ah! Low blow. So I sat and wondered what would really screw people over? What would deceive them? Something provocative!<— Light bulb moment.

That would grab them alright. So with a brand new title, a huge grin upon my face, I sipped my very awesome  Oceanspray Cran-Grape and started. I hope you enjoy my blog. And just to be fair, I will tell you what I did last night in my future posts.
